Chakaria Upazila is the gateway to the tourist city of Cox's Bazar district. Surrounded by an unprecedented combination of mountains, forests, rivers and sea, this upazila is full of natural beauty. Chakaria is one of the main upazilas in shrimp and salt production in Bangladesh. Increasing salinity is the biggest enemy of this upazila. Although the standard of living of the people of this upazila is quite advanced, the poverty and backwardness of the tribal community is worth mentioning. Although the general public of this upazila lags behind in information technology, their interest in adopting such technology is unwavering.
